Generate alt text for one product

Per-image generate and regenerate, manual edits, and options that apply to a single product.

The Products page is where you work image by image: generate what is missing, regenerate what you want to improve, or type alt text yourself.

1

Find the product

Open Products and use the search box to match on title, vendor, or product type. The Show filter narrows the list to *Missing alt text*, *Has alt text*, or *All products*, and each row carries a badge — *Yes*, or *No — 2 of 5 missing*. Click anywhere on a row to open that product.

2

Generate or regenerate an image

Each image gets its own card. The button reads Generate Alt Text when the image has none and Regenerate when it already does, with the credit cost printed on the button itself. The result is written straight back to Shopify, so nothing needs saving afterwards.

Regenerating a single image always replaces the alt text that is there. The Overwrite Existing Alt Text setting only governs Bulk generate and automatic generation on upload.
3

Write or fix alt text yourself

Edit the Alt text field on any card and click Save manual edit. The button only wakes up once you have actually changed something, and a manual edit costs no credits.

4

Options for this product only

The Options panel on the right holds the same controls as the Settings page — text length, languages, ecommerce details, SEO and negative keywords, custom prompt, prefix and suffix. It starts from your saved defaults, and a Customized badge appears as soon as you change anything.

These overrides apply to generations you run from this page and are not saved: Bulk generate and automatic generation always use your defaults. Reset to Default puts the panel back, and Edit Default Settings takes you to the Settings page to change the defaults for good.

5

Look at the image or the product in Shopify

Preview image opens the full-size image inside the app. The page header also has Edit in Shopify, which jumps to the product in your admin, and Open in storefront, which opens the live product page in a new tab.
