How it integrates

The Alt Text Studio WordPress plugin adds a dedicated panel to every image block. Click the plugin logo in the toolbar or use the sidebar "Alt Text Studio" panel to generate, regenerate, or edit alt text live.

Under the hood

  1. Hooks into the editor.BlockEdit filter with a higher-order component.
  2. Adds a ToolbarButton with the plugin logo for quick access.
  3. Adds an InspectorControls PanelBody in the sidebar with generate/regenerate buttons.
  4. Live polling: when auto-generate is running, the panel watches for the generated alt text and auto-applies it to the block without a page refresh.
