How it integrates

All in One SEO stores its focus keyphrases in a JSON-encoded post meta field. Alt Text Studio parses the JSON structure and pulls both the main focus keyphrase and any additional keyphrases.

Under the hood

  1. Detects AIOSEO via AIOSEO_VERSION constant.
  2. Reads _aioseo_keyphrases post meta (JSON) and decodes it.
  3. Extracts the focus keyphrase and each additional keyphrase into an array.
  4. Also reads the legacy _aioseo_keywords field for backwards compatibility.
